By-Elections: APC Sweeps Nasarawa, Enugu, Kano, Ondo as PDP Retains Rivers Seat

The All Progressives Congress (APC) recorded a strong performance in the latest by-elections across Nigeria, emerging victorious in Nasarawa, Enugu, Kano, and Ondo states, while the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) successfully retained its seat in Rivers State.

The elections, conducted under the supervision of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), attracted significant attention as political parties tested their popularity ahead of future electoral contests. APC candidates secured convincing victories in the four states, strengthening the party's representation and reinforcing its influence across different geopolitical zones.

In Nasarawa, voters turned out to elect a new representative following the vacancy that prompted the by-election, with the APC candidate defeating rivals by a comfortable margin. The party also made a notable breakthrough in Enugu, traditionally considered a stronghold of opposition politics, while maintaining dominance in Kano and Ondo.

Meanwhile, the PDP celebrated its victory in Rivers State, where its candidate successfully defended the party's seat despite intense competition from the APC and other political parties. The outcome was described by party leaders as a reflection of continued public confidence in the PDP's leadership within the state.

INEC officials commended security agencies and election personnel for ensuring a largely peaceful voting process, although observers noted isolated logistical challenges in some polling units. Political analysts believe the results could reshape alliances and strategies as parties prepare for upcoming elections.

The victories have sparked celebrations among supporters, with both APC and PDP leaders expressing gratitude to voters and pledging to deliver effective representation and good governance.
