Rivers CP Removes DPO Accused of Extortion, Abuse of Office

The Commissioner of Police in Rivers State has ordered the immediate removal of a Divisional Police Officer (DPO) accused of extortion and abuse of office. The decision follows growing public complaints and an internal review of the officer’s conduct.

Police authorities confirmed that the affected DPO has been recalled to the state command headquarters pending a full-scale investigation. Allegations against him include demanding illegal payments from residents and misusing his authority during official duties.
